Description

SIMBAD search: Names defined by Object Identifier can be resolved by SIMBAD database. After successfull resolution, the Equatorial coordinates of the given object is downloaded from the SIMBAD database and the transformation to Horizontal coordinates is initiated.

Horizontal coordinates: The Hour Angle (HA) and Altitude (Alt) of a star is claculated by the Equatorial Coordinates given by Right Ascension (RA) and Declination (Dec) using the curent Local Sideral Time for Piszkéstető Mountain Station. To refresh the Equatorial Coordinates and start continuous transformation, please press button Submit.

Important note: The Local Sideral Time is based on the computer clock on which the browser is running. Thus in order to get a proper Horizontal coordinates, the computer must be syncronized to a stratum 0 NTP server!
